On Thursday June 8th 2023, the Reach Out and Read Illinois hosted its annual Site Support Meeting. We’re especially grateful to have met with all of you at the Harold Washington Library and highlight the importance of building partnerships with your local library. Topics covered include:
- Strengths and Challenges with Implementing ROR (Panel Discussion)
- Fundraising Strategies and Partnership Building – Discussion Focused on Sharing Ideas & Resources (Breakout Session)
- The ABCs of Integrating ROR in a Well Child Visit – Provider Role Play with a Child & Caregiver (Breakout Session)

Attendees shared that they were thrilled to connect with ROR champions across the state. One participant shared, “It encouraged me to start reaching out to different organizations for possible monetary support or free books.” Another participant noted that they learned “how to use ROR to do your developmental assessment [and] the importance of introducing the book at the beginning.” We hope you enjoyed the resources and books you received!
